Two Abbott Policies on a Collision Course

IN Western Australia, Tony Abbott is lauding the mining industry, demanding the west be put on the same footing as Australia's historical and traditional colonial leaders of NSW and Victoria. But in the eastern states, and his home state of NSW, the Leader of the Opposition is cleft by mining and farming land rights and access. He is coming out in favour of farmers' rights, not mining rights.
