Call for Water Focus in Coal Seam Gas Talks

Mayors across outback Queensland say the coal seam gas debate should not focus only on productive farming land but also on important water resources.

The Remote Area Planning and Development Board represents seven councils in western Queensland, where gas companies are in the early stages of exploring.

Chairman Ed Warren says there needs to be a balanced, scientific discussion about the sector's expansion but the Great Artesian Basin should be protected at all costs.  Read More .
