Bligh Dismisses Legal Threat Over Mining Exploration Buffer

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has rebuffed suggestions her government's move to ban resources exploration from urban areas will result in litigation.

The Association of Mining and Exploration Companies chief Simon Bennison has told The Australian newspaper there's a "serious risk of litigation" arising from yesterday's announcement of a ban on exploration in areas with a population of 1000 people or more.  Read More
