Malcolm Turnbull made an interesting observation when defending his apparent popularity with Labor voters at a National Press Club luncheon in Canberra on Wednesday. The art of winning elections, he said, was not by persuading ardent supporters to vote with more enthusiasm, but by attracting people who didn’t vote for you last time.
