Blighs Says Pollies To Blame For Dark View Of Society

ANNA Bligh has warned that a destructive "politics of pessimism" is weakening Australian society, and says her fellow politicians are mostly to blame.   
The Queensland Premier called for a reversal of gloomy public rhetoric to help build a more prosperous nation, citing the burgeoning coal-seam gas industry as a boon for the state.

She said Australia had much to be grateful for after emerging from the 2008-09 global financial crisis in strong shape.

"We dodged that bullet more successfully than just about any other Western economy, because we were stronger, more stable and took the right decisions," she said.  Read More
