Protesters made their opposition to coal and coal seam gas mining pretty clear during a mountain-top campaign yesterday
BANNERS flew from the Scenic Rim's highest peaks yesterday as residents protested against mining.
As part an anti-coal seam gas day of action the Keep the Scenic Rim Scenic group climbed mountains across the region to put up banners with statements including "no gas", "water not gas" and "no fracking, save our state."
Mt Maroon, Mt Barney, the Minto Crags, the Lost World Plateau and other Scenic Rim peaks were littered with protesters and their banners.
Keep the Scenic Rim Scenic spokesman Innes Larkin said he was very excited by the day's results.
"I was on the North Ridge of Mt Barney and saw five or six other banners from there," he said.
