State Government figures reveal there were complaints about dust, noise and blasting relating to Upper Hunter mines every second day on average during September.
15 complaints were received by the Planning Department's Singleton office in September.
It carried out 42 inspections, surveillances and meetings, issuing four orders or advisory letters.
Strong winds on September 20 prompted four dust complaints and one mine was told to modify its dust management immediately.
Eight other dust inspections were carried out on the same day and the Department says those mines had already shut down equipment.
Coal and Allied was issued an improvement order after its trucks were found to have tracked sediment out of its Newdell coal-loading point onto Pikes Gully Road.
The Department's also announced a new schedule of conservation works for the Wambo Homestead.
It includes tree removal, the completion of the Butchers Hut, restoration work inside the homestead and a study to determine the impact of mine blasting on the heritage structure.
