At this meeting ESG will decide whether to sell the Narrabri coal seam gas disaster to Santos for close to $1billion.
We need to let them know that The Pilliga State Forest is NOT FOR SALE!
The coal seam gas development in the Pilliga threatens to clear thousands of hectares of state forest and the habitat for threatened species such as the Eastern Pygmy possum and Pilliga mouse. It will also destroy rich farm lands around Narrabri, give Santos a strong foothold in the Gunnedah Basin and put at risk the Great Artesian Basin.
Not only are ESG profiting from land they should never have been allowed on but now Santos are buying into this environmental disaster that we must STOP!
Meet out the front of the Shangri La at 9:00am - for more information contact The Wilderness Society Newcastle (02) 4929 4395 or Sydney (02) 9282 9553
