Greens Vow to Fight Qld Election on CSG

The Greens will fight next year's state election on coal seam gas.

The party's nine-point policy on the gas and coal industries, released on Saturday, includes a moratorium on further CSG development until all social and environmental impacts are known.

CSG extraction would only be allowed when the company can satisfactorily prove that they will have minimal impact on underground aquifers.

The Greens also want legislation so that mining activities are not exempt from the state's water, vegetation management and pollution laws.
