Coal Seam Gas Drilling Successful in Galilee Basin

A coal seam gas company has reported the first stabilised gas flow from a pilot well in Queensland's Galilee Basin.

Several companies have been exploring in the Queensland's central-west, but Galilee Energy has told the Stock Exchange of the first gas discovery in the Galilee Gas Project.

The project also involves AGL Energy, working on the Glenaras property north of Longreach.
Grazier Judy Gowing says while some Queensland farmers have problems with CSG, Glenaras has had a positive experience with gas companies.

"It's the way of the future, isn't it? We've all got to move forward," she said.
"And if that's the way it's got to go, then that is the way it has got to go.

"You know, you really have no choice, you need to work with these companies and we do work with them and they work with us.

"I think you need a very open relationship.

"I think if you start fighting against them and putting the brakes on, and not wanting this and not wanting them on the place, then there will obviously be problems."
