A meeting of the major anti-coal seam gas mining groups in the region will be held in Wingham on Saturday.
On the agenda will be the October 31 Upper House inquiry into coal seam gas to be held in Taree, the establishment of a regional CSG council and future campaigns.
The Manning Alliance will host the meeting at the new CSG information centre on the corner of Wynter and Isabella Streets and representatives from the Barrington-Gloucester-Stroud Preservation Alliance, United Myall Residents Against Gas Extraction, Manning Clean Water Action Group and Camden Haven Anti-Fracking Group will attend.
Manning Alliance chairman Peter Epov said the region’s groups had been co-operating with them on Project Blue (anti CSG mining) and needed to present a strong and united front to government and members of parliament.
