Farmers on the mid north coast and north coast are invited to attend a NSW Farmers Regional Forum in Coffs Harbour on March 7.

The tour is part of the Association’s statewide Touching Base Tour, which will be stopping in several towns across NSW, including Young, Wagga Wagga, West Wyalong, Armidale, Quirindi, Dubbo, Jerilderie, Oberon and Canberra.

The NSW Farmers Forum – Coffs Harbour will see leading experts from NSW Farmers to provide farmers with information on topics such as mining and coal seam gas activity, Local Government Environmental planning and the new cattle disease – Theileriosis.

NSW Farmers is encouraging everyone, whether they are members of NSW Farmers or not, to attend and have a voice on these issues and other key challenges facing the future of food production on the North Coast.

NSW Farmers President Fiona Simson headlines the list of speakers and will provide the latest updates on what the industry is doing to do to protect food production and water resources from coal seam gas and mining activity.

Forum Chair John Ainsworth says it’s an ideal opportunity for farmers to have input into addressing some of theimportant challenges for agriculture in the Mid north and North Coast regions.

“The Forum will also feature a workshop on Local Environment Plans that aims to assist farmers with Local Government planning instruments that may affect their business,” Mr Ainsworth said.
