Westside Corporation expects production boosts from new coal seam gas wells in Queensland

Westside Corporation (ASX: WCL) believes that its new wells will deliver high flow rates as demonstrated by the Pretty Plans-10 dual lateral well at its Meridian SeamGas coal seam gas field, Queensland.

Pretty Plains-10, one of 7 new dual laterals is currently producing gas at a rate of more than 1 million cubic feet per day (MMcf/d) with the potential for further increases.

The company added the flow comes from just 2 of the multiple seams available for production.

The 7 new dual laterals are located at Pretty Plains within the co-development area on the
Dawson Coal Mine’s mining tenements near Moura in Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Westside is also commissioning 3 new updip lateral wells to the south of Pretty Plains that will contribute further to production.

Westside said new wells now accounted for 21% of Meridian SeamGas’s gross daily production of about 11 terajoules per day (10.37MMcf/d) and that this continued to increase.

Pretty Plains-10 builds on the successful earlier commissioning of Pretty Plains-2 and Meridian 29, which has been producing more than 700,000 cubic feet of gas per day.

New and historical data have indicated the new wells that are currently undergoing de-watering will have high flow rates.
