ARROW Energy's proposed coal seam gas operation at Cecil Plains will not go ahead under an LNP State Government.
Member for Condamine Ray Hopper said the LNP's "stringent policies" would not allow the operation to go ahead in the farming community.
A spokesperson for Arrow Energy said they had no comment on Mr Hopper's promise.
Arrow's Environmental Impact Statement for the Surat Gas Project was released on Friday, which listed a number of mitigation strategies which it said would avoid unnecessary impact on agricultural land.
However, Cecil Plains farmer Graham Clapham said the statement had left him far from assured.
"It's early days yet - I've spent several hours perusing the main topics of interest to me, which are groundwater and agricultural impacts," Mr Clapham said.
