Possible ‘efficiency' hit says EIS

An Arrow Energy impact statement for the Surat Gas Project said heavy vehicle traffic will increase by less than 2% at the project's peak.

However, the Environmental Impact Statement said the total impact of the increased traffic had the potential to impact the "efficiency, safety and amenity of roads", both major and minor, in the project's region.

Arrow vehicles are expected to travel 616 million kilometres over the project life of 35 years.
The proposed Surat Gas Project would include 7500 gas wells, stretching from Goondiwindi up through Dalby, Chinchilla and Miles and to Wandoan.
