Bob Irwin at a coal seam gas rally in Mapleton yesterday
BOB Irwin has used his environmental clout to unite the Sunshine Coast's movement against coal seam gas mining.
Speaking in front of hundreds of people at a community forum in Mapleton yesterday, Mr Irwin voiced fears of a potential coal seam gas pipeline running from Ipswich to Nambour.
Campaigners said they were deeply troubled about the effects the project would have on their health, the environment, including groundwater stores, and land values.
Mr Irwin said he became vocal about the industry after he witnessed the impact it had on the ecosystem in Gladstone and Tara.
