THE Nationals have backed coal seam gas exploration, but warned that if poorly managed, it could prove an environmental and social disaster.
With the right checks in place, the Coalition partner says coal seam gas has the potential to deliver a new economic boom for the country, not to mention its regional centres.

They include a commitment to stop projects unless proven safe for the environment, keeping prime agricultural land at the top of the priority list, rejecting explorations close to homes and ensuring revenues are reinvested back into communities.
