Thousands of hectares of rare habitat are at risk of being wiped out to make way for mining in NSW, a new report says.
Seven sensitive natural areas are under "significant threat" from mining and gas expansion, according to the Icons Under Threat report launched by the Wilderness Society on Tuesday.
"Many of the areas that we are talking about are public lands," Nature Conservation Council CEO Pepe Clarke told AAP.
