Opponents of coal-seam gas exploration and mining in the Hunter Valley have presented a petition with thousands of signatures to the New South Wales Parliament.
Wine maker Bruce Tyrell presented the 11,000 signatures to Upper Hunter MP and Coalition frontbencher George Souris on the steps of Parliament this morning.
Mr Tyrell says CSG puts the Hunter's wine industry and the tourism dollars it brings to the region at risk.
"If we've got a coal-seam gas well head every 500 square metres along Broke Road our tourism industry is going to disappear very quickly," Mr Tyrell said outside Parliament.
