ELEANOR HALL: It will be the world's largest open pit mine but while mining groups are trumpeting government approval of BHP's expansion at Olympic Dam as the start of South Australia's mining boom, there is less enthusiasm elsewhere in the community.
BHP Billiton plans to spend around $20 bilion expanding the mine but environmental and community groups are concerned about the price they may have to pay for the mine's success.
