Coal Seam Gas in Court

The Gloucestor Stroud Preservation Alliance is lodged an appeal against coal seam gas mining in Gloucester.

The contentious issue of coal seam gas mining on the mid north coast is in court this week.
In what's being described as an important test case, the Land and Environment Court is hearing the concerns the Gloucestor Stroud Preservation Alliance, who has lodged an appeal against the approval granted to AGL's coal seam gas project in the Gloucestor Stroud Valley.

Garry Smith is with the Alliance and he says a pipe to Hexham, and stage one for 110 wells in the Gloucester area have been approved.

At this stage initial exploration is complete and the project has been approved but the Alliance is arguing that while all the issues were considered, not all were considered fully.
