Large banners will placed on the peaks of Queensland's southern ranges in a dramatic protest against coal and coal seam gas (CSG).
Spokeswoman Hiedi Ross said CSG industry is moving into the Scenic Rim and locals don't want it.
She said they'd also be blanketing the countryside with the banners.
"Town and country people are working together on this. Farmers, the tourism industry and local businesses are uniting to really make a stand," she said in a statement.
The protest will coincide with a national day of action across the country, with 25 protests planned, including Toowoomba, the Darling Downs, the Sunshine Coast and Gympie in Queensland.
A rally would also start at Brisbane city's Queens Park, protesters would then march through the streets and create a human sign in the formation of a water droplet to signify the risk of CSG on water basins.
Lock the Gate alliance president Drew Hutton said the day of action was intended to show the breadth of the movement and to put pressure on the political parties to adopt policies to protect food bowls, water resources, sensitive environmental areas and rural communities.
