Queenslanders should accept the gas industry if they want to prevent the expansion of coal-fired power stations, Acting Premier Andrew Fraser said as protesters began a day of action against coal seam gas (CSG).
Mr Fraser defended the industry as hundreds of protesters gathered in Brisbane and across Queensland and NSW to march against it.
Activists converged on Queens Park, in the CBD, waving placards reading "Food Not Fracking: Say No to Coal SeamGas" and wearing T-shirts bearing slogans such as "Don't Frack With Me".
