A CROWD of up to 300 people turned out on Friday night to hear Lock the Gate founder Drew Hutton speak against coal seam gas (CSG) mining.
Mr Hutton was addressing a meeting organised by local group Clarence Valley Against CSG Mining at the South Grafton Ex-Servicemen's Club.
Clarence Alliance Against CSG Mining spokeswoman Seanine Cooper said Mr Hutton's address was well-received.
"He spoke about the overall Lock the Gate campaign and also spoke about the overall structure of coal seam gas mining coming to Australia, into Queensland, then creeping into New South Wales," she said.
Ms Cooper said the main aim of the meeting was education.
