Three environmentalists who painted a slogan on a coal ship in central Queensland during the visit of an international delegation have been fined.
The three Greenpeace activists painted the words "reef in danger" across a coal carrier in Gladstone Harbour on March 7, as a UN team inspected the environmental management of the Great Barrier Reef.
They were arrested and charged with wilful damage and possession of an instrument of graffiti.
In the Gladstone Magistrates Court on Tuesday, the three were each fined $750, but escaped conviction.
