The Queensland
government has warned it will sideline gas companies and environmentalists with
extremist views about the coal seam gas (CSG) industry.
Deputy Premier Jeff Seeney says some balance must be achieved in
the bitter debate about CSG.
Stakeholders who espoused extremist views would only serve to
limit their input in decisions about the industry, he warned.
"If people aren't able to take a balanced view and aren't prepared
to see the whole issue and are just going to drive their own defined agenda,
then their chance for an input is fairly limited," he said.
