Newman faces tough CSG questions

The impact of coal seam gas on farming land and water is playing on the minds of Queensland's city voters, a forum has revealed.
More than 400 voters attended a community forum in the key seat of Ashgrove on Sunday for a chance to hear from all seven candidates, including Labor incumbent Kate Jones and Liberal National Party leader Campbell Newman.
Coal seam gas (CSG) mining, which mostly impacts on the state's farming regions, has hardly rated a mention during the five-week election campaign.
Last week, nearly 1000 farmers marched in Ashgrove to highlight the issue but their plight was quickly overshadowed by Katter's Australian Party's attack on Mr Newman's stance on gay rights.
Despite this, the majority of questions emailed to the forum by Brisbane voters centred on CSG.
Mr Newman had a dig at Ms Jones, who was the state's environment minister before resigning to concentrate on retaining her seat last year.
