THE HEAD of the Climate Commission, Tim Flannery, will warn coal seam gas companies today that their industry rests on a ''knife's edge'' and must be able to resolve pressing issues around water security, greenhouse gas emissions and social responsibility if it is to continue to grow.
THE HEAD of the Climate Commission, Tim Flannery, will warn coal seam gas companies today that their industry rests on a ''knife's edge'' and must be able to resolve pressing issues around water security, greenhouse gas emissions and social responsibility if it is to continue to grow.
Professor Flannery said the industry had a viable future as an alternative energy source to coal, but it should do more to weed out ''cowboy operators'' whom he said had angered farmers across sections of Queensland and NSW.
