Coal Seam Gas Company Rocks into Canberra

A company which wants to extract coal seam gas from the Great Artesian Basin has brought 12 tonnes of rock to Canberra.

Politicians were invited to view the rock, drilled from the Surat Basin in Queensland by Origin Energy.

Nationals Senator Barnaby Joyce says he's still got many questions after viewing the display.
"I think people would shoot me down in flames if I said 'Look, I've been here for half an hour and now I'm an expert', so it's more information to add on to what we've got."

Senator Joyce says he's wary of independent MP Tony Windsor's call for a cessation of CSG activities until there's more research.
