New CSG recommendations

"....Governments have not done enough to provide accessible and factual information about the development of the industry, which has contributed to a high level of alarm amongst communities affected by coal seam gas exploration... "


While protesters were marching on the steps of state parliament, inside the Upper House was tabling a report on the coal seam gas industry.

It has been a long inquiry that included a public hearing in Narrabri.

In the forward of the report the Committee Chair, Shooters Party MLC Robert Brown he said the the practices of coal seam gas companies are variable at best, and on the whole have been less than acceptable. This was the case not only with regard to negotiating land access, but also with regard to community consultation.
