AGL CSG exploration to continue

Gas Company AGL expects its coal seam gas exploration project in the Hunter Valley will continue for at least another five years.

The company has invested more than $700 million in the coal seam gas industry in the state.
It currently has two gas projects in the region, Gloucester and the Hunter Valley.

The Hunter Gas Project is located between Cessnock and Scone.

AGL says it has obtained about 300 kilometres of seismic data.

It has also flow-tested two pilot wells and drilled 16 core holes and six stratigraphic holes.
AGL expects to continue exploration activities for at least another three to five years, pending a decision to proceed to development.
