Ahead in the Race as World Demand for LNG Speeds Up

AUSTRALIA is not the only country where the public is concerned about gas mining: this week, the US Environment Protection Agency has released guidelines for a landmark study into industry's effects on farmland, while a British report has found the process of "fracking" was partially responsible for a small earthquake.
What is driving this race for gas worldwide is an increasing appetite for energy, with global demand forecast to increase by a third by 2035, with developing countries - mostly in Asia - accounting for 90 per cent of growth.

While this international growth means a greater demand for coal and gas as well as as other resources, in Australia the pattern is different, with gas overtaking coal as the major source of power.
