Seanine Cooper from Clarence Valley Against Coal Seam Gas Mining addresses the crowd .
WHAT coal seam gas mining is and what landowners' rights are were at the forefront of discussions at the first Clarence Valley Against Coal Seam Gas Mining meeting.
Organiser Seanine Cooper said the crowd was far bigger than they had anticipated and required a venue change.
"There were about 50 people there, which meant we had to move from the Environment Centre to the South (Grafton Ex-Servicemen's) Club," she said.
"People were mainly concerned with the impacts of coal seam gas mining on the Clarence Valley.
"We spoke a lot about contamination of water, farming and livestock and the rights people have as landowners.
"We want to keep this strong alliance and continue meeting and doing what we can against companies coming in and mining for gas."
