Update: LTG Kerry Update

Update from: Daniel Robins
The Community at Kerry Continues To Lock The Gate

The battle between the scenic township of Kerry QLD (population 676) and the multi million dollar gas company Arrow Energy (owned by Royal Dutch Shell and PetroChina) continues today after six days of a highly successful 24-hour community blockade.

The blockade was set up last Thursday by local community members upset at Arrow Energy's plans to conduct exploratory drilling in the area without proper community consultation. Such drilling has been linked to thousands of cases of ground water contamination in the US.

Arrow Energy said it had offered to meet with the organisers of the blockade at Beaudesert however, the organisers have asked the Arrow Energy executives to meet face to face with the community in Kerry.

The blockade continues today just 75 kms from Brisbane in Queensland's beautiful Scenic Rim.
