Resources skew Queensland growth

QR National was the best performer of Queensland's 213 ASX listed companies last year.

While the world nervously navigates the fragile economic situation, Queensland companies, buoyed by the resource sector, have positioned themselves strongly.

But the outperformance of many the state's companies is directly linked to their exposure to the energy and resources sector and in most cases, was not shared by companies in non-resource sectors.

On average last year Queensland's 213 ASX listed companies increased their market capitalisation by 14.7 per cent.
