Mining magnate to address leaders

IN A major coup for the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce, influential mining magnate Clive Palmer will address business leaders at an Energy Summit to be held in Toowoomba next month.

The controversial magnate, and staunch LNP supporter, will take to the stage at a luncheon scheduled for March 16 at Picnic Point.

In its second year, the Energy Summit will run over March 15- 16, culminating in Mr Palmer's address to business, civic and political leaders.

Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce president Geoff McDonald said that with agriculture, energy and mining sectors the subject of considerable debate, political manoeuvring and opinion, leaders must take care to ensure that these important areas could co-exist harmoniously.
