Alan Pigram, John Butler and Joseph Roe (r) at James Price Point protesting the proposed gas hub
Further doubts have been cast over the land deal underpinning the $30 billion Kimberley gas hub project, following a vote by Aboriginal families in Broome.
The Jabirr-Jabirr Goolarabooloo people have had a claim over the land for 16 years.
Last May they agreed to accept a $1 billion benefits package in exchange for allowing the contentious project to proceed.
Last year, Mr Roe - who opposes any industrial development in the area - indicated he wanted to lodge a separate, competing native title claim to try and invalidate the deal struck.
Yesterday, he put that proposal to the claim group at a closed meeting in Broome.
