Pilliga gas site protester case up again

THE legal case of a man who scaled a drilling rig at an Eastern Star Gas site in the Pilliga State Forest last July is still to have another day in court.

The prosecution brought against Warrick Jordan, 30, of Hamilton in Newcastle, originally involved five charges being laid but a number of adjournments see it still unresolved, according to the defendant.
Jordan said he was represented by his solicitor at the latest mention in Narrabri Local Court last month, when the case was adjourned to Tuesday, February 28.

The case had originally scheduled for November 29, but was then adjourned to January 27.

Jordan claims the prosecutor had dropped three of the charges but replaced them with two others.
He said the latest details were a bit sketchy as he had not been in the court – he was in Tasmania – and neither he nor his solicitor had seen the 200-page brief detailing the updated charges.
