Citigold Bolsters Exec Team as it Moves to Fast Track Qld Project

JOHANNESBURG (miningweekly.com) − Gold miner Citigold has strengthened its executive team as it prepares to enter an “aggressive” production ramp-up at its Charters Towers gold project in Queensland.

Citigold, which is listed on the ASX, said on Thursday that it had appointed Brian White as executive director of mine operations from next month.

White, currently a nonexecutive director, is a mining engineer who has held senior positions in both surface and underground mines in many parts of the world, including the large underground Ashanti gold reef mine in West Africa. He was MD of Tennent Isokangas consultants and principal engineer with Coffey Mining.

Meanwhile, Citigold also said that its funding negotiations with a number of international parties were at an advanced stage. The board aims to conclude the funding, which would be majority debt, before the annual general meeting in late November.

CEO Mark Lynch said that the Charters Towers project could rank as one of Australia’s largest gold mines when in full production.   Read More
