Miner Lashes Rig Stunt as Setting Poor Example for Children

A TEACHER who climbed up an 8m coal drilling rig at Bacchus Marsh to protest against a proposed mine says he is happy with the example he is setting his students.

Shaun Murray spent five hours chained to the rig yesterday in strong wind, before being removed by a police search and rescue team.

He said he would risk his life again for the cause.

"I think I have got a moral obligation to act when I see things that are wrong," he said.
