LOCKYER BATTLE: Bob Katter and Aidan McLindon help Dave Neuendorf launch his bid for the seat of Lockyer at the Gatton Shire Hall.
THE battle for the seat of Lockyer at the state elections hotted up with Australian Party candidate Dave Neuendorf firing the first salvo when he launched his campaign this week.
Speaking at the Gatton Shire Hall in front of about 200 people, Mr Neuendorf said it was time for a change in the way government has been run in the state as people were disillusioned with both major parties.
"We're sick of pussy cats in government," he said.
Mr Neuendorf laid out his policies for the seat of Lockyer and said it was time to look after the man on the land and re-introduce farmer co-operatives to take on the large supermarket chains.
"The agricultural industry in the Lockyer Valley puts 80% of the money back into the local economy," he said.
