Politicians and conservationists will march on Monday on an expanding southeast Queensland coal mine that they say is encroaching on a town.
Conservation group Lock The Gate is leading the rally at the Acland mine coal dump, near the township of Jondaryan, west of Toowoomba.
They will be joined by Katter's Australian Party leaders Bob Katter and Aidan McLindon, and Australian Greens senator Larissa Waters to protest New Hope Group's expansion plan.
Radio personality Alan Jones also plans to join the group, which intends to blockade the mine's coal dump.
New Hope Group is seeking government approval for stage three of its mining project.
Lock The Gate argues this would be disastrous for local communities, as the operation would double in size.
