  • There's no reason why coal seam gas extraction can’t coincide safely and harmoniously with farming
  • Origin investors recognise the value of the company's projects but it’s a tough market to sell ideas with long development timetables and execution risks
  • The wholesale price of electricity will be much higher as the energy mix changes from coal to gas and renewables
  • However, the rise doesn't necessarily translate into higher bills for consumers
  • Flexibility will be the key to electricity generation, and Origin is investing in open-cycle gas to support wind power
