THE Manning Alliance yesterday said it believed the NSW Legislative Council's committee inquiring into coal seam gas (CSG) was considering extending its deadline for submissions for a further week.
The consideration of an extension comes as a result of a number of requests for an extension of time from members of the public and the coal seam gas industry, the alliance claimed.
The committee, under the chairmanship of Robert Brown of the Shooters and Fishers Party, will hear evidence from "select" individuals and organisations that have previously presented submissions to the inquiry in a formal hearing in Taree on October 31.
The alliance understands more than 350 submissions have been lodged.
