FEAST your eyes on Bimblebox, a film about the Bimblebox Nature Refuge, that delves into the issues that surround coal seam gas mining in Australia.
The Southern Downs Protection Group is excited to announce the screening at 7pm on July 11 at the Jackie Howe Motel, at the corner of Palmerin and Victoria Sts.
The film focuses on the 8000ha nature refuge in central west Queensland, which is threatened by a massive coal development proposed by Waratah Coal.
President of the SDPG Dawn Health said the film also featured solutions and viable alternatives for the future, with stories from people whose communities and natural values have been either undermined or are currently under threat from coalmining activities, putting a real face to this issue.
"We are excited at having this opportunity to screen this important film in Warwick," she said.
Tickets for the screening at $10, with proceeds to go towards raising awareness about the issues in the community.
