One thing that didn't get mentioned last night was infastructure. Where they place all these mines etc is one thing, but even if they a located in acceptable areas, the question of road access etc must be addressed. As everyone in this area knows, the roads are attrocious. Anna Bligh seems to think Queensland stops at the base of the Toowoomba range. The Warrago highway is the freight corridore between brisbane and the west, yet is nothing more than a goat track in areas, especially btween Dalby and Chinchilla. No new mines or major facilities must be build/commissioned until the road networks can cater for the volume of traffic that will accompany them.
