A central western New South Wales council has endorsed a new policy of refusing coal seam gas (CSG) developments.
The Warrumbungle Shire says based on the current information and technology, it will not support the controversial form of mining.
General manager Steve Loane says while there are no proposed CSG projects in the area, pipelines from wells to power stations in other regions run through the shire.
He says the council has discussed its concerns with the Government.
