A Mayor from Queensland's Western Darling Downs says an incident
at a gas well near Miles is no cause for alarm.
The Queensland Gas Company (QGC) says it discovered a five centimetre crack
in a well on Monday and has launched an investigation.
An exclusion zone has been established and QGC says it could take a couple of
days to fix the leak.
Councillor Ray Brown says he has been assured the leak poses no threat to
people or the environment.
