Comet Ridge (ASX: COI) is now focusing on starting the Mahalo production pilot after confirming that all pilot wells in the Bowen Basin project had intersected good continuity, thickness and permeability of the main reservoir section.
The company and its partners will now plan, design and construct the pilot facilities for the first production pilot in the area. These facilities are expected to be commissioned in late 2012.
This will be followed by a further four core holes to extend delineation of gas in the ATP 337P Mahalo Block.
The pilot production project is aimed at demonstrating commercial gas flows from the Block with the intention of achieving an early initial reserves certification.
