Aquila Resources has reported a 45 per cent annual production increase at a central Queensland coal mine.
The Perth-based mining company sold its 50 per cent stake in the Isaac Plains coal mine earlier this month to Japan's Sumitomo Corporation for $430 million.
The company's quarterly report to June shows the mine produced 618,000 tonnes of coal in the three months, a 48 per cent increase on the previous quarter.
It also took the annual increase to 45 per cent and the mine's full year coal production to 1.25 million tonnes.
The report said mining operations compared well to previous quarters, although wet weather during May and June hampered production.
Since the sale, Aquila's cash reserves and liquid investments total $500 million.
